Resource for Excellence

The Harper Employee Annual Campaign supports student scholarships, as well as new projects and programs at the College to help students realize their educational dreams.

Support the Future

Donations help to enrich the lives of scholarship recipients, minority and special populations of students; meet the needs of the community by providing programs for the changing demographics within the district; honor and develop excellence in teaching; and look to the future to help the College maintain its financial stability. The Harper College Educational Foundation, established in1973, provides support to people who begin and continue their journey at Harper College.

As the state of Illinois' budget is stretched, educational institutions, including community colleges like Harper, will likely continue to see decreased funding for various programs and positions including grant funded programs and staff positions. Recently, Harper experienced a decrease of $2.3 million in external funding, but with growing support from the Foundation these programs have been retained for future generations. Donations received by the Foundation provide resources to the College that are not available through normal government and tax sources.

By contributing to The Harper College Educational Foundation, you help students go forward with their futures by supporting their education, maintaining or establishing scholarships and growing community outreach programs. Your donation provides the critical opportunity for Harper students to enrich their lives, their community and their future.

Donations to Harper support the Resource for Excellence Fund, which is administered by the Foundation Board of Directors. The funds are distributed based on the greatest need in essential areas. Designated gifts may be made to any of the ongoing Foundation programs or scholarships. For endowment gifts of $10,000 or more, or for testamentary gifts, donors may specify restrictions for programs and scholarships.
