Employers Can Learn Ins, Outs of Healthcare Reform at Harper Event

Harper College  will offer a free seminar intended to help employers navigate the murky waters of healthcare reform.

The session, "Healthcare Reform: What Every Employer Needs to Know," follows the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act this summer. It is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, October 4 in the Wojcik Conference Center on the College's main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine.

Noreen Blair of Wine Sergi Insurance Company, LLC and Rebecca L. Dobbs of SmithAmundsen will lead the seminar. They'll deliver tips for untangling the act's alphabet soup and address specific compliance issues, boiling down the document's 2,000-plus pages into an easy-to-understand language for employers.

Blair has more than 12 years of experience in employee benefits and has assisted in insurance plan designs for large and small clients. Dobbs serves as Of Counsel in SmithAmundsen's St. Charles office and is a member of the firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group, where she focuses on employee benefit compliance, administration and litigation.

The seminar is the latest in Harper's Professional Advisors Seminar Series, a collection of free sessions on a variety of timely topics sponsored by the College's Educational Foundation.
