President to introduce "Communiversity" concept at Barrington's White House

Dr. Ken EnderAlthough a postsecondary credential is now necessary to ensure employment that supports a middle-class lifestyle, millions of young adults are neither employed nor in school.

Harper College President Dr. Ken Ender will introduce a new educational concept – called the “Communiversity” – at a free event from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, February 26, at Barrington’s White House.

In his lecture, “College Affordability and Completion: Ensuring Pathways to Opportunity,” Dr. Ender explores how to expand career paths and employment opportunities by creating a network of secondary schools, the community college and a local state college or university.

This “Communiversity” can deliver a flexible, high-value education at a reasonable cost, meeting the needs of both students and employers.

Dr. Ender’s presentation and a Q&A session will be followed by a reception featuring desserts prepared by Harper hospitality management students. There is no charge for general admission, but reservations are required at BarringtonsWhiteHouse.com or 224.512.4292.

Barrington’s White House is a unique, historic venue located in the heart of downtown Barrington at 145 W. Main St. The meticulously restored 1898 mansion hosts cultural, community and private events.
