Can I send you my resume?
Harper College only accepts applications via the Online Employment site. You are considered an applicant for a position at Harper College only if you have completed the online application and attached it to the job posting. Resumes and cover letters should be attached to your online application. Unsolicited paper resumes sent to Harper College are not accepted nor can they take the place of an online application.
If you have completed an online application for a specific position and you are having difficulties attaching your resume and cover letter, you may send the documents as Microsoft Word attachments in an email to jobs@harpercollege.edu
I don’t have internet access. How can I apply?
If you do not have internet access, please call the Recruitment Office at 847.925.6430. A computer is available in this office from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. by appointment only.
The Online Employment Site may be accessed through any computer with internet capability. The Harper College Library, as well as your local public library, will also have computers with internet access.
How do I know what positions are available?
Open positions are listed on the Online Employment site at https://jobs.harpercollege.edu.
There are no positions that interest me at this time. Should I apply anyway?
In order to be considered for employment, an online application must be attached to an open position. While the system allows you to complete an application without attaching it to a position, only applications that are attached to open positions can be viewed by search committees.
If you cannot find a position of interest, please monitor the website frequently for future employment opportunities.
Which type of application do I use?
Each open position will indicate the type of application that can be attached to that job. If you search for the position of interest first, you will see two choices- View Job Details and Apply to this Job. Both of these choices will direct you to the appropriate application. View Job Details allows you to read the job duties and requirements and at the top of the page, you will be able to click on the button Apply for this Posting.
Faculty Application: The following jobs require a Faculty Application: Full-Time Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, Full-Time Counselors, Full-Time Librarians, Adjunct Librarian/Counselor and Continuing Education Instructors.

I am applying for more than one job, do I have to complete a new application?
Once you have completed an application, you will be able to attach that application to any open position that accepts that type of application. For example, if you have completed a staff application and are now interested in applying for another staff position, you can attach your completed application to the new position of interest. However if the completed application is a staff application and you are now interested in a faculty position, you will be required to complete a faculty application.
If you have attached your application to the jobs correctly, you will receive a confirmation number.
What is the process for students looking for work on campus?

The job I’m interested in has an older open date. Can I still apply?
It is Harper College policy that all positions remain open until filled. Thus, all positions listed on the Online Employment site are available regardless of Open Date.
Please note that most Adjunct Faculty and Temporary/Short-Term positions are continuous postings which means they remain open throughout the year to create a pool of qualified for candidates for when there is a need. However, needs vary semester by semester. When there is a need, the department will then review applications and contact candidates for potential interviews.
If the application review date has already passed can I still apply?
All open positions remain open until filled. Priority will be given to applicants that apply on or before the review date, however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled. You are encouraged to apply to every position of interest for which you are qualified, regardless of the application review date. We strongly advise that you monitor our jobsite regularly so that when a position of interest opens, you can apply for it immediately.
Who will have access to review my online application?
Your online application can only be viewed by the search committee for the specific job opening to which you apply and the HR department.
