HealthStream is an online educational program designed to educate the health care professional. You will need to access HealthStream modules, prior to entering the clinical portion of your education.

  • Each module takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete, or a total of about 10 hours.
  • You must have internet access, preferably high speed as opposed to dial up services. Access the internet through the browser, Internet Explorer.
  • HealthStream is a PC- Windows based program.  If you have a newer Mac with the Intel chip and Microsoft Windows Application or an older Mac with Virtual PC, you can access the program. Check computer compatibility here:

Prior to entering the clinical portion of your education you must complete the following modules with a passing grade of 80%:

  • Electrical Safety
  • Emergency Preparedness

  • Hazardous Communication
  • Infection Control
  • Medical Ethics
  • Patient Rights
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Preventing Slips, Trips, and Falls in the Workplace
  • Standard Precautions: Bloodborne Pathogens and Other Potentially Infectious Materials
  • Transmission-Based Precautions: Airborne
  • Transmission-Based Precautions: Contact and Droplet

Your instructor may want to see a transcript of the courses completed or may ask you to let them know in another way that you have completed the modules. You may take the module test as often as you like to get to the 80% required on the post test.

HealthStream Login / Profile

Open HealthStream. Your "username" is your first initial and last name: (gbush) and "password" is the initials of your program - for example hsc.

Once you have logged in, you will see the following choices: My courses, My transcripts, Catalog, Hospital Direct, and My Profile.

My Profile: Please select my account information and please insert your current email address.

Catalog: You will choose your courses under Catalog. Select catalog, then input the name of the course or hit search and look for the selected module. DO NOT CHOOSE the PA modules, just the regular titles.  Click on the title and then select enroll. After enrolling you can click on the title and start the program.
