Ian McGarrie (Formally known as Ian Robinson) graduated from Elmhurst College in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies. His education includes studying at both Harper College and Berklee College of Music.

He has been playing for over twenty years with nearly 13 years of professional performing and teaching experience. Currently Ian is teaching saxophone/woodwinds at Harper College in Palatine, York High School in Elmhurst and at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream.

Ian has had the pleasure of performing with and/or studying musicians such as Mark Colby, Frank Caruso, Bob Rummage, Ken Haebich, Doug Beach, Patti Austin, Bob Mintzer, Steve Weiss, Bobby Shew and Dennis DiBlasio. He has performed in the Perugia Jazz Festival in Italy, the Viene Jazz Festival in France, the Birmingham Jazz Festival and the Wigan Jazz Festival in England, the Zagreb Jazz Festival in Croatia, as well as done tours in the countries of Scotland, Wales, Austria and Chile.
