Aviation

Learn to fly with Harper and the Illinois Aviation Academy.

Aviation Ground School, an introductory course for private or commercial pilots, is offered through Harper every semester in cooperation with McHenry County College, Elgin Community College, and the Illinois Aviation Academy (IAA).

Explore aerodynamics, the function of flight controls, airport and airspace awareness and basic meteorology. Learn through lecture, computer animated presentations, group participation and field trips. Successful completion prepares you to take the private pilot written exam and continue your ground and flight training with IAA.

Course Highlights:

• FAA computerized testing is available on-site.
• Complete a bachelor's degree and meet your flying goals in as little as two years through an education partnership with Utah Valley State University (uvu.edu).
