2009 Season RecapThe 2009 season ended with mixed results for Harper's men's cross country team. After building with a series of in-season races, the men captured 2nd place in the Division III Region IV regionals and Jesus Escareno grabbed 1st place in the individual results. In the nationals, the men did not compete as a team, but Jesus Escareno ran as an individual posting a time of 27:58 - good for 2nd place out of 106 runners! "Jesus ran a good race," said Head Coach Paul Paynter, "he came within 16 seconds of first place. This was his second, national 2nd place finish."  For the season, Jesus Escareno also earned All-American honors, making him a two-time All-American.
In addition, Jesus was voted MVP by his teammates for the 2009 season. |
