For New and Current Harper Students
A private scholarship can be awarded to a student by an organization other than Harper College. Students are eligible to use private scholarships by enrolling at Harper College and meeting all of the requirements that the private scholarship donor has placed on the scholarship.
If you are receiving a private scholarship, the scholarship check must be submitted
to the Business Office with a Private Scholarship Funder Form. Scholarship checks
that are not accompanied by a Private Scholarship Funder Form will not be accepted
and/or returned to the sender if received in the mail. You will find the Private Scholarship
Funder Form in the "For Private Scholarship Donors" section below.
Community organizations, workplaces, faith institutions, and even local businesses may provide scholarships. In addition to using the links below, research opportunities at the library and ask family, friends and counselors.
Many free scholarship search tools on the web provide information on scholarships available nationwide.
Unfortunately, there are some companies that offer scholarship search services without the best interests of students in mind. The Federal Trade Commission has prepared resources to protect consumers against scholarship scam services. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
