New Degree-Seeking Student Assessment Requirement

All new degree-seeking students (those intending to enroll in 12 credit hours or more) are required to meet the College's assessment requirement prior to registration. In some cases, ACT scores and previous college credit can be used to waive the assessment requirement.

Please contact the Assessment Center (Room A148, 847.925.6541) or the Center for New Students (Room C104, 847.925.6208) for more details about waiving assessment tests.

New Degree-Seeking Students

All new degree-seeking students (12 credit hours or more) are required to attend Orientation. Orientation has two steps:

Step 1: Compass Placement Testing

Step 2: Advising and Registration

During Orientation, meet individually with an advisor to discuss course selection and learn more about campus services and programs. Take this opportunity to ask your advisor questions about your future career or transfer goals and learn how to register for your courses.
