The tutoring Center offers assistance in many subject areas.
We can help you succeed.
Free services for Harper students include:
- one-to-one tutoring and small group tutoring.
- test reviews and end of semester reviews.
- workshops and study guides.
Fee-based services for the community
- Tutoring is available to members of the community who are not enrolled at Harper.
- Call 847.925.6888 for specific fees, subjects and hours.
Walk-in tutoring. No appointments needed for the following areas:
- Accounting
- Chemistry
- Computer (CIS)
- Management
- Math
- Physics
Appointments are required for these areas:
- Biology
- Economics
- Interior design
- Music
- Philosophy
- World languages
Appointment Policy
To ensure that all students are served in an effective and efficient manner, please
- Be on time for your appointment.
- Be prepared by bringing books, notes and questions.
- Be sure to read the assigned material.
- Have specific questions prepared for the tutor.
Cancel or Reschedule: Call at least three hours before your appointment.
Call your BY APPOINTMENT ONLY tutor directly to cancel or to reschedule your appointment.
Late Cancellation: if you cancel your appointment less than three hours in advance you will be recorded as a late cancel. If you have two late cancels, you will forfeit your right to make appointments for that subject for the rest of the semester. However, you may use the service a on walk-in basis when available.
No Show Policy: If you do not show up and do not notify us in advance, you will be recorded as a "No Show". If you have one no show, you will forfeit your right to make an appointment for that subject for the rest of the semester. However, you may use the service on a walk-in basis when available.
