ADS Success Club (Access and Disabilities)

Promotes self-advocacy by supporting current students with disabilities in their transition to Harper. Members will be involved with community outreach, social activities and special projects.

Amateur Radio Club

Promotes amateur radio to Harper College and exposes students to the world of "Ham" radio operations.

American Sign Language (ASL) Club

Students from ASL classes participate in events and community service sponsored by ASL Club. Social events provide exposure to ASL, Deaf culture and the Deaf Community.

Astronomy Club (HAC)

Clay Guild

This is the Harper chapter of the national junior college honor society. Students invited to join must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 upon completion of 12 hours of academic credit in courses at the 101 level or above at Harper College.

A literary and art magazine, Point of View is generally printed each year in the spring.

Pom/Dance

The Pom/Dance Squad has been promoting school spirit since 1967. The members perform dance and pom pon routines at all home football and basketball games.

The Cheerleading Squad performs at all home and some away football and basketball games. Members' enthusiasm is used to fire up the team and promote school spirit.

WHCM

Students learn the daily operations at this student-run campus radio station. Management, news and music positions are available. Open to all degree credit students. WHCM can be heard on 88.3 FM.

How to Start a Club or Organization

  • Obtain a petition form and sample constitution from Student Activities, Room A336
  • Have a minimum of 10 Harper students and a Harper faculty advisor to oversee the activities
  • Draw up a constitution using a sample form.
  • Submit all to the Director of Student Activities
  • If the Director approves the constitution, the proposed organization will then be considered by the Student Senate for formal recognition.
