Harper College student Ilce Perez's ideas on how to improve relationships between citizens and law enforcement officers led to her first-place award in the Illinois Academy of Criminology’s Transform the Criminal Justice System essay contest. Perez, a criminal justice student, had an opportunity to present her ideas to Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle during a recent ceremony.
Harper College will hold a film screening of “Embrace,” a social impact documentary that explores the issue of body image. The free event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, October 19, in the Building J Theatre.
Harper College will hold its annual Fall Open House, offering prospective students and families the opportunity to discover how they can move their future forward. The event, which is for high school students and parents, will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12.
